*Papercutting or paper cutting is a traditional craft technique and has evolved uniquely throughout the world to adapt to different cultural styles. Papercuts are often cut from a single sheet of paper rather than multiple sheets as in collage. (referencing wikipedia) I was exposed to papierschnitten portraits as a child and was introduced to "kiri-gami" while studying in Japan. I have continued to paper cut and combine this with digital illustration.

Further note from wiki on vrksasana: A 7th-century stone carving inMahabalipuramappears to contain a figure standing on one leg, perhaps indicating that a pose similar to vrikshasana was in use at that time. It is said thatsadhusdisciplined themselves by choosing to meditate in the pose. This pose is described in the 17th century Gheraṇḍa Saṃhitā 2.36.
