Coneflower is the common name of this plant, the roots are made into the herbal or medicinal echinacea to ward off colds. I made a batch in the fall once the foliage had died off. Simply dig up the roots, clean thoroughly, chop up and let sit in clear drinking alcohol like vodka for several months. Strain and use this as you would the store-bought echinacea that comes in the little brown bottles.

Cathedral card was originally done for the headmistress of a private school...sounds very turn-of-the-century, old(e) England and Harry Potter-ish.
